"I had general anxiety.
Thoughts and worries weighed heavily on my mind, taking up energy. I’d speed drink as a way to overcome some of this overthinking and I wanted to gain control.
I wanted peace of mind. To stop ruminating on the smallest of things. Even though I’m a sociable person, I've always been self critical on the inside and I wanted that to change.
I thoroughly achieved all of those things I wanted! It is a gradual and subtle process. But suddenly I became aware that daily worries where I previously ruminated on situations that would trigger a sense of doom/shame, they just stopped!
I also became in control of drinking.
Miracles exist!
I honestly just thought I was a worrier / over thinker / was always troubled in this way.
There are instances where I naturally will still get stressed or worried about something (this is normal) but my brain has unconsciously learned to somehow just let it go, and that ultimately I’m safe and I’m ok.
